The Rotary Foundation

Ongoing concerns and accomplishments:

We certainly need Major Donors in Rotary’s humanitarian and educational fundraising campaigns, but small amounts of money given by large numbers of Rotarians can be combined to do great things.

TRF Trustee Lou Piconi recently stated “… We do hope Rotary leaders at the club and district level convey accurate information (about our humanitarian and educational programs) and permit Rotarians an opportunity to participate. Some may feel it is an obligation and too difficult to participate at a level ‘thought to be required.’ I do hope you convey this (following concept) to your newer members. What we have said is that this generation of Rotarians has the opportunity to achieve a goal that shall always be remembered. It is not an obligation and no Rotarian should feel less if he or she chooses not to make a contribution for any program or project.
On the other hand, we do hope every Rotarian would feel the pride of the achievements and programs of The Rotary Foundation and then choose to make an annual contribution each and every year. That is the bottom line message that Rotary club leaders should convey with sincerity and conviction.”

Polio eradication will only succeed if the necessary funds are made available, and with strong political commitment in polio-affected countries. More than 10 million children will be paralyzed in the next 40 years if the world fails to capitalize on its >US$5 billion global investment in eradication. ROTARY "MINI" WEBSITE FOR POLIO ERADICATION

Rotary has launched a "mini" Web site to give the general public an opportunity to help end polio by contributing to Rotary's US$100 Million Challenge from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Check out the three-page site at www.rotary.org/endpolio.  All funds raised will go directly to The Rotary Foundation in support of polio eradication.

N.B. Rotarians should continue to contribute through the Member Access Portal at www.rotary.org.
